This is a list of restaurants that we have visited, but will not recommend. There are however two categories here. The first list is of restaurants that have been all right, but nothing more than that. No extra in terms of food or service and no sign of any ambition besides putting food on you plate. We would maybe return to some of these if we are in that kind of mood in the future. There are no comments attached to these restaurants as they mostly did not do anything wrong. They just did not do very much at all that was worth the prize.
The second list is on restaurants that we will avoid forever due to our first visit. They might have had a bad day, or we had a bad day, but nevertheless, we like to list them with just a short comment that tells you what was the problem. It is more difficult to qualify for this list so it is much shorter than the one of restaurants we recommend or those we just visited.

RESTAURANT AVE DOMITIUS, 16, pl Hôtel de Ville - 11100 Narbonne
Tourist trap very well located in the corner of Place de la Mairie. Food, wine and service. They have even managed to find bad wine to serve customers, which is very hard in this region!!
MEDITERRANEE, 11210 Port-la-nouvelle
Located with direct view over the beach. Food, wine, service and atmosphere are very bad.
LE PETIT PECHEUR, 12 Quai General Durand, 34200 Sète
Low prize restaurant directly on the main restaurant street in the harbour. Food and service is cheap in its American meaning.
L'ARLEQUIN and LE MIAMI, Boulevard du Front de Mer, 11100 Narbonne Plage
Bad service and bad food. Fish and meat heated up and over-cooked. No willingness to correct misstakes. Mussels and chips were all-right though.
LE FOU CHANTANT, Cours de la Republique, Narbonne
Central location in Narbonne. Slow and bad service and low quality food. Express menu took 45 minutes to get after rush-hour and was not eatable. No understanding from owner when complaining.
LE YACCA, 26 Place 14 Juillet, 34120 Pezenas.
We experienced one of the worst meals ever in France in Pezenas. I have warned you about the tourist traps around Place 14 Juillet before, but this one was really something else. The reason we went to one of these restaurant was that the grandchildren wanted pizza. I also ordered a pizza, that was impossible to eat. It was a so called white pizza with a lot of topping, but they had managed to make it totally without taste, besides a not so fresh taste on some of the meat. The other adults’ salad was a catastrophe. A chicken salad where it was almost impossible to find any chicken among the salad leaves and with a tapenade that never ever had seen an olive and tasted awful. The poor person who served us was nice and could not help it, but we hope he had the courage to communicate it to the kitchen. It was expensive also. I looked at Trip Advisor for the restaurant. Most visitors grades it as “Horrible”, but a handful say it is the best pizza in the world and give them highest rate (family and friends?) So much for Trip Advisor!
